Most of what is to be posted here is classic common sense that many of us ignore, and tried and true techniques. There are no fads allowed here. Everyone's bodies are different. What works for one may not work for another regarding weight loss. I have first hand experience with this. My mom has been taking daily walks for about 6 months now (as of this post) and has lost a good amount of weight with seeing results fairly quickly. I, on the other hand, have been going for daily walks, doing aerobics at home and taking cardio classes 3 times a week (totaling 6+ hours a week for all) since March have not lost any weight. For the months of April and May I was even getting herbal body wraps and didn't loose any weight with that either, but I did loose inches. Even though I haven't lost any weight, I do feel stronger and have more physical endurance. I am working with my doctor to find out why my body is not shedding pounds (I have LOTS to shed from many pregnancies). It may be that I have an underlying health problem that has gone undiagnosed, and I may need medication.
I am a fan of anything herbal, naturopathic or homeopathic, but sometimes standard medication is needed. I hope we can find what's going on and FIX it.

Back to you now... In this day and age, most people are sitting or are sedentary for 8+ hours a day. Our bodies are not meant for this much inaction! It takes 10,000 steps a day to MAINTAIN your health. First you need to get where you want to be. This may mean more steps, more crunches, more stretching. Yes, stretching. For those who are physically unable to exercise, stretching your muscles is stimulating and calorie burning in and of itself. It circulates the blood getting vital nutrients where they need to go, provided you're feeding your body the correct foods. Increasing your water consumption (and decreasing your soda! see "The Skinny on Liquids") also helps move toxins out of your organs to be flushed out and aids in calorie burning!

You may be thinking... I am so busy, I don't have time to exercise! Or maybe you think you have to pay for a gym membership. There's always the classic, "I don't have the energy to start." WRONG, WRONG, WRONG! Many small and simple things can be changed in our daily routine to help get those steps in. None of them include a gym membership. Reality is, exercising GIVES you energy! Don't believe me? I dare you to try it. 10 minutes is all it takes:)

Every week I will post a new or upgraded exercise routine to do for those of you who would like to try. I would love to hear back from any of you on progress you've made. This means attitude changes-for the better, stamina, endurance, strength, and possibly weight loss!
